Sunshine FPC, Inc. has reached beyond its boundaries and surmount new heights at this year’s FTA competition. Winning its 4th consecutive gold award and also the grand prize of Best of Show. Traditionally excelling in polymer substrates. Sunshine has surpassed its own limitations, wining the competition with a paper substrate entry. Taking the initiative to show brand owners what the possibilities could be to enhance the value of their brand.

We’re thrilled to announce that Sunshine FPC, Inc. has once again earned top honors, taking home the Gold Award and the prestigious Best of Show title in the wide web category at the Flexographic Technical Association’s 2013 Excellence in Flexography Awards. Sunshine bested competitors from leading manufacturers worldwide, solidifying its position as an industry leader on the global stage. Entries were judged based on level of execution and degree of difficulty, with heightened creativity being a common theme throughout the competition.

 2013 marks the fourth consecutive year Sunshine has garnered multiple awards (17 and counting!) from both the FTA and the Printing Industries of America. For company owner James Chuang, this latest round of accolades reinforces Sunshine’s commitment to delivering a premium product that enhances value for clients’ brands. “We continuously strive to assist brand owners as they face SKU proliferation, targeted market promotions and demanding timelines for manufacturing and delivery,” he said. “Our main goal has always been to elevate the brands we serve by adhering to the highest production standards and pushing the envelope in terms of creativity. We are excited to receive this prestigious honor. The credit goes to our wonderful team for pushing the boundaries of wide web flexographic printing. It’s not easy being green? Think again!

Exploring and establishing sustainable, reduced-energy manufacturing processes has been a major initiative since Sunshine FPC, Inc.’s inception over 20 years ago. Our efforts didn’t go unnoticed and we were recently awarded the 2013 Efficiency Excellence Award by Southern California Gas Co. (SoCalGas), a subsidiary of SEMPRA Energy Utility.

Through active participation in local recycling and energy efficiency programs as well as comprehensive employee education and training, the Sunshine FPC, Inc. team successfully refined standard operating procedures. We’ve leveraged the latest technology to reduce the amount of raw materials and energy used during manufacturing. The result: a significant increase in production efficiency and a 75% decrease in energy consumption over 12 months, the largest energy savings for a business within our community in recent years. We remain committed to reducing our carbon footprint and raising the bar for sustainability standards within the flexible packaging industry through efficient energy consumption and eco-friendly product offerings.
