Exploring and establishing sustainable, reduced-energy manufacturing processes has been a major initiative since Sunshine FPC, Inc.’s inception over 20 years ago. Our efforts didn’t go unnoticed and we were recently awarded the 2013 Efficiency Excellence Award by Southern California Gas Co. (SoCalGas), a subsidiary of SEMPRA Energy Utility.
Through active participation in local recycling and energy efficiency programs as well as comprehensive employee education and training, the Sunshine FPC, Inc. team successfully refined standard operating procedures. We’ve leveraged the latest technology to reduce the amount of raw materials and energy used during manufacturing. The result: a significant increase in production efficiency and a 75% decrease in energy consumption over 12 months, the largest energy savings for a business within our community in recent years. We remain committed to reducing our carbon footprint and raising the bar for sustainability standards within the flexible packaging industry through efficient energy consumption and eco-friendly product offerings.
